This story is about the future and how 70% of
the people have a “feed” embedded in their brain. This feed gives you all the
information you can think possible. It also consists of constant
advertisements. This creates a society of less educated people and more
consumers. There is a young girl named Violet who received her implant at the
age of 7, so this causes her to be different. A group of kids’ get their feed
hacked and realize how much their implants have taken over their lives once
they get disconnected. Violet and Titus try to fight the controlling
consumerism of the feed.
Strengths/Textbook:
This book brings to
light how addicted we are with consumerism these days. We too have a “feed” it
is the TV, Internet, and any form of technology. We get bombarded with
commercials and advertisements that stress we “need” this product. Being able
to break free from those controlling visions can bring life into a new
light.
